Why Should You Re-enroll (or Enroll) Your Child @ South Charlotte Baptist Academy?

Today, Friday, January 5, we began our re-enrollment process at South Charlotte Baptist Church. I am very thankful for the families that we allowed to serve this school year and look forward to having the opportunity to serve many of them again next year (along with, we trust, many new families)!

I have been contemplating writing about “Why Parents Should Choose South Charlotte Baptist Academy” to help parents in the decision process to re-enroll their children but also to help new families who are considering South Charlotte Baptist Academy. However, I just couldn’t seem to adequately articulate my thoughts. So, when I received notification that we had received the first re-enrollment, I took the opportunity to contact the family and simply ask them why they chose South Charlotte Baptist Academy for this current year and why they chose to re-enroll their child for the 2018-2019 school year.

Here’s how they responded:

Curriculum: Academic, creative and social SKILLSĀ
Instilling strong BIBLICAL knowledge from a very young ageĀ
Committed TEACHERS
Dedicated STAFF MEMBERS (like Mr. Rideout and Mr. Faulk who don’t mind standing in the coldest weather to receive the children)
I couldn’t have said it better myself!

Part of the foundation of a good education is discipline. A child cannot hope to get the most out of their time in school if they have not developed character traits such as listening, obedience, order, etc. But discipline at South Charlotte Baptist Academy is taught and displayed in a Christ-like and loving manner.
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;” 2 Peter 1:5

The curriculum that is used at South Charlotte Baptist Academy (Abeka) is high quality and challenging that is taught from a biblical worldview that prepares the students to truly make a difference in the world. (Click here to learn of some of the distinctives of the Abeka curriculum.) Last year our students tested, on average, of a grade and half above their current grade level when taking the Iowa Achievement Tests. (Click here to learn about the Iowa Achievement Tests.)

Instilling Strong Biblical Knowledge

South Charlotte Baptist Academy, as a ministry of South Charlotte Baptist Church, is unashamedly a Christian school. As has already been stated, our curriculum is taught from a biblical worldview by teachers who have a biblical worldview themselves. 2 Peter 1:5 (see above) teaches that knowledge is built upon the foundation of virtue (character) and that character is built upon a foundation of faith.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

Committed Teachers & Dedicated Staff

The faculty and staff of South Charlotte Baptist Academy is committed to serving, not only the students, but the entire family. We understand that parents have the ultimate responsibility to bring their children up in “the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” We have the opportunity to come alongside of families to help them accomplish that responsibility. The faculty and staff of South Charlotte Baptist Church and Academy not only want to see their students succeed but they also desire to see parents succeed!
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 1:4
