Principal’s Perspective, January 18

Winter Weather

At times, it is a difficult decision to close the Academy due to weather/road conditions. Today (Thursday) was one of those occasions. However, we always want to be abundantly cautious as we are dealing with the lives of our students, their families, and our staff. While school cancellations are never convenient, we trust that you will understand that they are, at times, necessary. Also, if you did not receive the text messages, emails, or phone calls that were sent out this morning, this is a perfect opportunity for you to update the contact information that we have for you. You can update your contact information via ParentsWeb or you can send us an email at info@scbacademy.org.

Follow Us!

This is a perfect opportunity to encourage you to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. We use those as platforms through which to post announcements and other information from the ministries of South Charlotte Baptist Church & Academy.

CiCi’s Pizza

Today (Thursday) is usually when CiCi’s pizza is served for lunch. Never fear! For those who had ordered pizza for lunch today, we will place those orders tomorrow (Friday). So, tomorrow, Friday, January 19, will be CiCi’s pizza day instead of today! We want to encourage you to go ahead and place your order for next week’s Chick Fil A Tuesday. The proceeds from the Chick Fil A Tuesdays are going to help with the Jr/Sr Spring Trip this year.

Jr/Sr High Field Trip

The Jr/Sr High field trip that was scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, January 19, will still go on as originally scheduled. Students should bring their completed permission slip with them when they come to school tomorrow morning. If they failed to bring their permission slip home, you may download & print a copy of that permission here!

Re-Enrollment

There are not quite two weeks left for you to take advantage of the “Early Bird” re-enrollment fee. Also, as some of you may be considering sending your child to a public school next year, I want to encourage you to read what the CMS school board is up to. (Click Here.) If they attend public school, your student, even in elementary school will be subjected to the LGBT political agenda. Before choosing a public school for your child, please take time to read the information. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
