Principal’s Perspective for Saturday, September 9, 2018

Good Afternoon!

Hurricane Irma Everyone has been anxiously waiting to see where Irma is going to make landfall and how, exactly, Irma will affect the Carolinas, particularly the Charlotte area. At this point, it looks as though we will receive rain and some wind. With wind, there is always the possibility of power outages. Due to when Irma is expected to begin to affect Charlotte, it is likely that we will not have ESD (Extended School Day/Aftercare) on Monday afternoon. Please make plans accordingly. We will make a final decision about that by Sunday evening.

School Closings This is a good opportunity to remind everyone of our school closings policy. We will follow Charlotte/Mecklenburg’s lead for the first day of any school closing. For example, if Charlotte/Mecklenburg schools closed for Tuesday, we also would not have classes on Tuesday. However, for any following days we will make decisions independent of the Charlotte/Mecklenburg school district. We would use all resources available to us to inform you of our decisions – email, text, phone calls, etc.
