Principal’s Perspective for October 26, 2017

It’s been awhile since I last sent this out. Things have been extremely busy here in the ministry of South Charlotte Baptist Church. If you don’t have a church that you attend on a regular basis, why not join us this coming Sunday to meet the rest of the South Charlotte Baptist Church family!

Fall Festival

South Charlotte Baptist Church will host its annual fall festival on Tuesday night, October 31, from 6:30-8:30 PM. Our church and Academy families always enjoy this time of food, fun, and fellowship. We ask that children (and adults) not wear anything scary or worldly to this invite and please, no masks. In addition to all the usual activities planned for that night, we will be incorporating two additional items to help our junior and senior high students raise money for their 2018 Spring Trip. We will be selling canned drinks for $.50 in our concessions area and then we will have a dunk tank! For $1 you or your child can have 3 opportunities to dunk some of our jr/sr high students and possibly have the opportunity to dunk one of our teachers or staff! You don’t want to miss out on the fun! Click here for more information!

Fall Break

We will have our Fall Break on Wednesday, November 1. The Academy will be closed and there will be no ESD (extended school day) either before school or after school. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 2.

Christmas Joy Gift Bags

If you have planned to fill a Christmas Joy Gift bag this year, we ask that you drop them off in the Academy office by no later than Monday, October 30. If you are able to help with shipping costs ($5 a bag) please turn that in separately. Do not place money in the bags. If you have extra items, you may drop them off as well. We will give any extra items to Directline Ministries. They will use those extra items to put together additional Christmas Joy Gift bags.

Do You Have a Trade?

Do you have a trade that you would be willing to share with South Charlotte Baptist Academy? If you have a skill, such as carpentry, tile work, electrical, plumbing, IT (internet technologies), HVAC, painting, etc., that you would be willing to “share” with SCBA, Pastor Campbell would love to speak with you! Due to the fact that our ministry is not yet large enough to have a paid custodian/property manager, often, any repairs or upgrades that need to be made fall on the shoulders of our staff. Currently, we are need of someone who could help us with some networking problems that we are having. You may contact Pastor Campbell at (704) 575-3378.

New School Bus

For those of you have been a part of South Charlotte Baptist for a few years now, you know that it has been our desire to purchase a “new to us” school bus that we could use for field trips and other road trips as needed for the entire ministry. It would be our desire to purchase a bus that has less than 100,000 miles on it and is around 10 years old. We currently have $17,000 that has been given toward this need. To purchase a bus that fits what we are looking for, we will need to have between $40,000-$50,000. If you would like to make a donation toward the purchase of a bus, you may do son online. Click here and then choose “Academy Offerings.”

Chick Fil A Lunch

We have not fully instituted our Chick Fil A lunches yet. We do apologize for that. We have not been able to fully set up the online ordering process. We ask for your patience. If you have ordered the Chick Fil A lunch, and would like to receive a refund of those funds, please contact jeanne.kelsey@southcharlottebaptist.org in our business office.
