2016-2017 Re-Enrollment Process

At times, working with technology can be difficult. With that thought in mind, if you are having difficulties with the re-enrollment process, please take a look at the following “screen shots” to help you “see” what you should be “seeing” and looking for!

  1. Go to and, in the upper right hand corner, click on “ParentsWeb.”

2. You will then see the following screen. It is here where you will fill in your username/password. Use the “Forgot Username/Password” if necessary or click “Create New ParentsWeb Account” if you have never logged in to ParentsWeb. (Note: SCL-NC is our Disctrict Code.)

3. Once you have logged on to ParentsWeb, you will click the “Family Information” link in the left column.

4. After you have clicked on “Family Information,” you will be given further options under the “Family Information” link. You will want to click on the “Enrollment/Reenrollment” link.

5. It is at that point that you will be able to “Start Enrollment Packet” for your child. (Or choose which child to start with if you have multiple children enrolled.)

6. From that point, you simply walk through the process of providing or verifying information that is on file for your child. You will be able to follow your progress in the window which will be on the left side of your screen. After you have successfully completed each step, you will see a green check mark appear next to that step. (See picture below.)

7. However, if you see a caution triangle next to one of the steps, that means you have completed some aspect of that step. (See picture above.)

8. If you are unable to complete the enrollment process at one time, don’t worry! After you complete each step, you are able to “save” your work and you may come back to it at a later time. (Notice in the following picture that there is the option to “edit” Mollie’s re-enrollment packet.)

9. Once you have completed the process, you will go to “Enrollment Packet Review” where you will be able to review all of the information that you submitted. You will also have the opportunity to view a PDF of all the information that you submitted. You can then save a copy of the information for your records if you would like.

10. (See the picture above.) Once you are satisfied with the information that you submitted, you will click the “Complete Review and Submit Enrollment Packet.”

11. The next screen will inform you of the re-enrollment/registration fee that is due and will give you the option to “Submit Enrollment Packet and Make Payment.”

Should you have difficulty, please contact the Academy office at (704) 544-7323.

Educational Affordability Options

Parents, There are some options available to the families of South Charlotte Baptist Academy to help make their child’s education more affordable. Although this event is being hosted by another private school in the Charlotte area, the speakers at this event, particularly the speakers for the Children’s Scholarship Fund and NC Opportunity Scholarship, will be providing information that can/could be used at South Charlotte Baptist Academy. South Charlotte Baptist Academy plans to have a representative at this meeting gathering information that can be shared with our parents but you are also invited to attend in person. Below, you will find information about this event:

We’ve come to the end of the first quarter!

Child-Cheering-Thumbs-UpIt’s hard to believe that it will be November next week! The stores are ready for Christmas! (I, though, am not!)

We have had a wonderful first quarter and I want to thank you for allowing South Charlotte Baptist Church & Academy the opportunity to come along side of you in the training of your children! I know that the teachers have been doing “double duty” this week in making an effort to speak with many of you and I want to thank you for your flexibility in arranging your schedules to do that. During this first quarter I have also had the opportunity to speak, one-on-one, with many of you. If I can ever do anything for you, please do not hesitate to contact me!

As we get into the second quarter of this year I want to remind you of the following as it relates to our dress guidelines: (You may find the entire dress guideline by clicking here.)

  • Outwear (sweaters, sweatshirts, coats, and jackets), worn in the classroom, must be of a solid color, matching the colors allowed for uniform polo shirts. Land’s End has several nice options for jackets, etc. that I know some of the students have already purchased.
  • If their outwear is not of a solid color matching our school colors, the students will be asked to remove it and hang it up while in the classroom.

  • Shorts or pants (Skorts and jumpers may be worn by young ladies). Tights are not to be worn without one of the previous items over top. Denim and cargo pants are acceptable for preschool.
  • For girls, leggings should not be worn. Only socks or tights.

Chapel Attire

Some students are still not wearing proper attire on Chapel Day, which is Tuesday of every week.

  • Girls (K5-4th grade): Ladies’ white, long or short-sleeved Oxford shirt with white plaid jumper
  • Girls (5th-6th grade): Plaid skirt, instead of a jumper, with dress shoes. (Evergreen knee highs optional). Ladies’ blue ¾ sleeve Oxford shirt.
  • Girls (7th-12th grade): Ladies’ blue ¾ length sleeve oxford shirt with plaid box pleat skirt.
  • Boys (K5-6th grade): White long or short sleeve Oxford dress shirt, gray pants (no shorts) and uniform navy/gold stripe tie.
  • Boys (7th-12th grade): White long sleeve Oxford shirt, gray dress pants and navy/gold stripe tie.

Encouragement for Every Parent

“Christian parents must have an active goal and philosophy of training their children…God’s goal for our children is not just for them to stay out trouble…The goal of every Christian parent ought to be that his children grow up to be godly, not just good.”
(Taken from the book, “Training Your Children to Turn Out Right: A Biblical Guide for Christian Parents” by David Sorenson)

The Method To Our “Madness”

Question(1)Probably some of you, at some point, have said, “There is a method to my madness,” when questioned by someone about why you did something or why you did something in a particular way. Regarding South Charlotte Baptist Academy, some of you may have wondered about the reasoning behind the dress guidelines that we have established. Well, here at the beginning of the school year, I would like to share the “why” behind the dress guidelines that we have.

First of all, allow me to share several verses from God’s Word:

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” 1 Timothy 2:9-10

“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior (modest behavior), given to hospitality, apt to teach;” 1 Timothy 3:2

“Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

The Bible, in these passages and others, teaches the principle of modesty. While most people think of modesty simply in terms of the clothes (or lack of clothes) that an individual wears, it is much more than that. When I talk with individuals about this I explain that modesty means, “Not drawing the wrong kind of or too much attention to yourself.” Think about that just for a moment. Why do people wear some of the clothing that they do? To draw attention to themselves. Why do people sometimes act in the way that they do? To draw attention to themselves. However, instead of seeking to draw attention to ourselves, we should seek to draw attention to Christ.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

At South Charlotte Baptist Academy it is our desire that our students learn to glorify God in all that they do – including in what they wear and how they wear it. We desire that our students learn to point others to Christ instead of merely seeking to draw attention to themselves.

We have only begun to look at the “why” behind the dress guidelines that we have at South Charlotte Baptist Church. Next, I’d like to pose to each of you the question, “Got M.I.L.K?” Until next time…
