011518 Principal’s Perspective

Good Morning! The first semester is now behind us. Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, we will begin our second semester. Before any of us realize, it will be May 25 and the school year will have come to an end!

I trust that everyone will enjoy their day off. Please be in prayer for our students and staff. Many of them are trying to “fight off” the crud that has been going around. We praise the Lord, though, that we have not been affected as severely as some schools in our area.

Please remember that our “Early Bird” re-enrollment will end on January 31st. At that time, the re-enrollment fee will go up to $300. While it would be our desire for each student to join us once again for the 2018-2019, we do understand that, at times, there are circumstances beyond your control which would force you to choose another school for your student. We would ask that you let us know that so that we may plan accordingly. In ParentsWeb, there is an option to choose “Will Not Enroll.” Also, if you don’t mind, please let your teacher know your reason for not re-enrolling your student. That would allow us the opportunity to make our school a better place!

Continue to order “Chick Fil A Tuesdays” and “CiCi Thursday” via ParentsWeb. We would like to encourage you to purchase “Chick Fil A Tuesdays.” The proceeds from the sale of “Chick Fil A Tuesdays” will be going toward our Jr/Sr High Spring Trip. This year, the jr/sr high students are going to have the opportunity to visit Chicago! (Along the way they are going to visit the Answers in Genesis Creation Museum!)

2018-2019 Tuition

Click here to see the 2018-2019 tuition & fees. Overall, tuition is only going up by $100. Continue reading to see why we have raised our tuition.

Safety & Traffic

In a recent survey conducting in conjunction with the Association of Christian Schools International, more than 90% of parents indicated that they chose a Christian school for their children because of safety. Here at South Charlotte Baptist Academy not only do we seek to keep our students safe, we also desire to keep our parents safe! One area that is a concern to us – as it is to many parents – is the traffic at our entrance, especially at the beginning of the day. It can be quite difficult to get in and out of our property when dropping your children off in the morning. One change that we are looking to make for the 2018-2019 school year is to hire a Pineville police officer to direct traffic in the mornings. We are meeting with the Pineville police chief to discuss how we can make that happen. However, there will be a cost involved with that which is one reason why we will be raising tuition costs for the coming year.

Elementary Band & Music

Through the years, our music program has fluctuated from year to year depending upon the staff that we have. We have recently been in talks with the American Independent Music Association. The AIMA works with small, independent schools (such as SCBA) to provide a weekly, instrumental program. It is likely that we would begin with an elementary band which would encompass the 4th-6th grades. This would also come at an additional cost to our school which is another reason for the increase in tuition costs. We are also looking at ways in which to bring back our Strings program in the jr/sr high.

If there is anything that we can do to help you make the decision to re-enroll your student for the 2018-2019 school year, we would love to speak with you. If you desire, please contact Pastor Campbell directly at (704) 575-3378.

Have a wonderful day!
